Poetry

Emily Dickinson is one of my favorite poets. Today, I would like to share with you my three favorite poems by her.

If I can stop one heart from breaking, I shall
not live in vain. If I can ease one life the aching,
or cool one pain, or help one fainting robin unto
his nest again, I shall not live in vain.

There is no frigate like a book to take us lands away,
nor any coursers like a page of prancing poetry. This
travel may the poorest take, without oppress of toll.
How frugal is the chariot that bears the human soul.

Fame is a bee, it has a song,
it has a sting.Ah, too, it has a wing.

Aren't those cool?

The End of Purple Penguin

I am about to post a poem that my dear friend and I wrote yesterday. (My friend's blog name is Nancy)

The End of Purple Penguin
by Anne & Nancy

Purple Penguin fell on the floor, Purple Penguin is no more.
Purple Penguin lost his feet, Purple Penguin then said "Tweet!"
Purple Penguin lost his wings, Purple Penguin no longer sings.
Purple Penguin lost his beak, Purple Penguin cannot speak.
Purple Penguin lost his belly, Purple Penguin turned into jelly.
Purple Penguin lost his head, Purple Penguin now is dead.

Oh, and BTW, these are the real Purple Penguins! (Made out of Sculpey Clay!) :-)

Poetry by me

This is a poem I wrote when I was 10.

The Honeybee
by Anne
Never slap a honeybee, or it will "bee" no more .
For then it won't make honey, and that would be a bore!
So....
Never slap a honeybee, or it will "bee" no more.

Funny, huh?
